Personally, I'm more of a Mac fan and so are most pro recording studios I've worked in. Having said that... I've been in many studios using a PC system very sucsesfully as well.

Mac's aren't any faster than PC's of equal power that's for sure but it's more of what you don't get on a Mac that keeps me away from PC's... ahh, the memories of constant crashes weird malware, viruses, spyware, constant maintenance, tweaking and optimizing. Hey, the Mac's aren't perfect but most of those things either don't exist or they are very minimal.
