Why do I give away tons of free stuff and want you to sign up for my mailing list?

It's quite simple; I've been lucky enough to have been making a great living in the music industry since the mid 80's. This road has taken me on tour with some of the biggest names in music; ZZ Top, Robert Plant, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and The Rolling Stones to name a few.

You can have some fun times touring but I felt some of the biggest fulfillment in my life has been from taking part in some great recording sessions in studios like Compass Point in the Bahamas, Criteria in Miami, and The Complex in Los Angeles. The recording studio seems to be the only place you can get so wrapped up in what you're doing that before you know it the entire 12 hour day has gone by in what seemed like a couple of hours.

Even in my home studio I can get lost for days. You can probably relate. I know from experience it can be frustrating trying to set up your own home studio when there are so many types of computers, software, audio interfaces etc.

One of my personal goals is to put together enough information over time to help people figure out the best way to record their music at home, cause I know that recording a great piece of music can be one of the best things in life.

The home recording studio is for songwriters and musicians who are either tired of paying a pro studio $1000 a day or they just like the convenience of everything they need to record a song at home... or a combination of these two.

You wanna know what my very 1st home studio consisted of? A Tascam 4 track cassette deck! Oh yea baby, these things really did exist. Hard to think about that now with the great gear that's coming out all the time and getting more inexpensive too. Even if you only had a few thousand dollars to put together a home recording studio you could get one or two pieces of gear and start recording the next day. We live in a great time so take advantage of it!
